The site contains articles mostly to do with the occupation of France, 1940-1944, written by Cathy Winch and originally published in Athol Books magazines, Church and State, Irish Foreign Affairs and Labour Affairs.
The intention is to separate history from propaganda. Since WW1 propaganda has been essential to the conduct of war, and we have not had peace long enough for propaganda to have dissipated yet on a wide variety of topics to do with WW1 and WW2. Regarding WW2, France is in the peculiar position of being both a victor nation and a nation that lost the war, not an easy position in which to tell the truth about what happened. These articles are a contribution to the telling of the facts.
The first page of the site has the monthly comment by Froggy on French and English politics.
